Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is one of the most amazing natural wonders of Iceland. Experience a day full of glaciers, icebergs and waterfalls at Iceland´s jewel.
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is a true natural wonder—an awe-inspiring spectacle that will leave you breathless. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure along Iceland’s stunning South Coast, where glaciers, icebergs, and cascading waterfalls create a landscape of pure magic.
Our journey begins at the majestic Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the thundering cascade and feel the raw power of nature up close. Next, we’ll visit the iconic Skógafoss waterfall, an impressive 60-meter drop that crashes into the river below, often adorned with shimmering rainbows.
The true highlight of our adventure awaits at the extraordinary Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Iceland’s largest and deepest glacial lake. During the summer months, you’ll have the chance to embark on an unforgettable boat tour, drifting among towering icebergs in a scene that feels almost otherworldly. Make sure you book the boat ride in advance to secure a spot.
A short walk away, Diamond Beach offers another breathtaking sight—crystal-clear icebergs scattered across jet-black volcanic sands, creating a mesmerizing contrast. Keep an eye out for playful seals basking on the ice or swimming in the nearby waters.
As we return to Reykjavík, you’ll carry with you lasting memories of Iceland’s unparalleled beauty—a journey filled with wonder, adventure, and moments that will stay with you forever.

The Seljalandsfoss waterfall is for many guests the highlight of this trip, as you can walk along and behind this waterfall at certain times of the year, offering a completely unique perspective; just be sure to bring a rain jacket!
Along the return trip to Reykjavik, we will stop at the powerful 65 meter tall Skógafoss Waterfall where a short walk up a flight of steps will reveal one of Iceland´s most scenic views of glaciers, volcanoes and black sandy beaches. With viewpoints both above and directly next to the waterfall, photographers will have plenty of chances to capture that unique shot.
The quaint town of Vík is Iceland's southernmost town with a traditional Icelandic church overlooking the ocean and the three trolls of the black sand beach. At this stop you will have the chance to grab some lunch & use the restroom, explore the town, spend time at the beach, or do some souvenir shopping at Icewear's outlet store.
This is the main stop of the day and one of the most spectacular sightseeing spots in all of Iceland. Icebergs from Vatnajökull glacier float in the lagoon and an optional boat tour on the lagoon is available at certain times of the year. Heading down to she shoreline, you can visit the diamond beach, where icebergs often lay stranded in the black sand beach. If you´re very lucky, you might spot seals in the lagoon or just off the beach.
One glacial lagoon is not enough! We also make a stop at the Fjallsárlón glacier lake, which offers different views and usually has less visitors.
We return to the village of Vík for a dinner stop.
We visit Seljalandsfoss again, and if´s already dark (depending on the time of year), it will be lit up, offering a totally different experience than seeing it in the daylight!
We return to Reykjavik at around 10 pm.
For your comfort: Dress according to weather. In Iceland it is always wise to dress in warm waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden so be prepared for all weather conditions. Waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves, and warm socks/waterproof shoes are recommended.
