Eldhestar horseback riding

The volcanic hills and valleys and the volcano Hengill north of Eldhestar are an outdoor paradise for hikers and riders with marked trails in fascinating landscape. South of Eldhestar farm are large meadows with grazing horses, wetlands rich in bird life and the broad delta of the mighty glacial river Ölfusá. The grasslands surrounding the river delta and the black beach of the nearby North Atlantic are ideal for exploring on horseback.

The Icelandic horse has been a useful servant over the years.

The Eldhestar farm is situated in Iceland‘s south-western countryside close to the town Hveragerði, one of Iceland’s most picturesque village nestled in a green valley between volcanic mountains with steaming hot springs.

"Comfort is King!"

Our south coast tour was lovely! The black sand beaches felt almost other worldly. Waterfalls are stunning. The south coast tour is a must!...even though it is a very long day. However, booking with Reykjavik Sightseeing is a really great option. Of the four companies we had tours with, they were by far the best.

"Golden Circle Tour with a Toddler"

Visiting the Golden Circle with Reykjavik Sightseeing was a great experience. They had a car seat for our 18 month old that allowed him to easily see out the window during the ride between stops. The buses are very nice, and they provide a tablet with tour facts.
