Tour Highlights

Seljalandsfoss

The Seljalandsfoss waterfall, like an oasis in the desert, stops the buses in their tracks and make visitors swoon at its magnificent glory. Standing at 60 meters, the most unique feature is the loop trail leading adventurous visitors right behind its watery curtain for an experience as rare as it is breathtaking.

Skógafoss

Skógafoss Waterfall is where a short walk up will reveal one of Iceland's most scenic views, with glaciers, volcanoes and black sandy beaches around you. The Skógá river hurls down the cliffs in the form of the Skógafoss waterfall. The waterfall is among the largest in the country with a width of 26m and a drop of 60m.

Sólheimajökull

Sólheimajökull is a glacier tongue crawling from the ice-cap of Mýrdalsjökull. On Mýrdalsjökull rests the mighty Katla Volcano, that last erupted in 1918. The glacier tongue boast of a tiny surface area of about 8 km in length and 2 km in width. Needless to say, the area is one of vast and breathtaking beauty.

Reynisfjara & Reynisdrangar

Legend has it that the stacks in the sea are the jagged remains of a pair of trolls, who, in a botched attempt to tow a three-masted vessel ashore, turned to stone when the sun rose. You will find Garðar cliff; basalt columns that are shaped by the forces of nature. In addition to the myriad visual wonders, the area also hosts a rich birdlife.

Vík

The village of Vík is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around the island. Despite its small size (291 inhabitants) it is the largest settlement for 70 km. It is an important service center for the inhabitants of and visitors to the coastal strip between Skógar and the west edge of the Mýrdalssandur glacial outwash plain.

Eyjafjallajökull

Eyjafjallajökul caused quite a stir with a fiery eruption in 2010, causing serious trouble for airlines and travelers. The glacier crests at an elevation of 1.651 meters, where its ice cap covers the caldera of an active volcano. This ice cap stretches over an area of roughly 100 square kilometres and the mountain beneath the cap stands at 1651 meters high.

"Awesome"

Having carefully researched and read the reviews of this trip, we booked and were so glad we did. The tour was well structured with plenty of time at each attraction (45 mins to 1hr at each). There were also refreshment and comfort breaks along the way. The coaches were very comfortable with WiFi and a USB charger point at each seat. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and definitely enhanced the experience.

"An amazing experience!"

From pick up from our hotel to being dropped back at our hotel around 8 hours later, we had the most fabulous Iceland experience. Our tour guide was excellent, funny and engaging throughout...not overbearing but gave us all we needed. You get an interactive tablet (so bring headphones) that had a map and information as you drove along- excellent way of getting information as you could choose from a wide variety of languages. The map was GPS linked so as you drove the tablet automatically started to tell you information relevant to your position on the tour.
