Visitez la côte sud de l’Islande et crapahutez sur un glacier. Rendez-vous ensuite aux incroyables chutes de Skógar et de Seljalandsfoss, en rejoignant un de nos circuits incontournables qui part de Reykjavik. Nous nous arrêtons d’abord au glacier Sólheimajökull, très accidenté. C’est une langue glaciaire qui descend de la calotte glaciaire du Mýrdalsjökull, où l’imposant volcan Katla sommeille. Vous marcherez sur le glacier, munis de crampons spéciaux fixés à vos chaussures et explorerez les crevasses et les effondrements, toujours sous la conduite d’un guide spécialisé.
La destination suivante sera les chutes grondantes de Skógarfoss. En vous approchant vous sentirez les fines gouttes qui s’en dégagent, et vous pourrez aussi grimper la colline (527 marches) pour contempler la majestueuse chute de 60 mètres du haut. Vous verrez les eaux frayer leur chemin jusqu’à l’océan Atlantique.
Enfin, et ce n’est pas rien, nous visiterons la chute de Seljalandsfoss, une des plus célèbres attractions d’Islande. Pour découvrir une nouvelle perspective, vous pourrez passer derrière la chute et contempler une muraille aquatique.
Pour atteindre cette incroyable destination, nous traverserons des terres cultivées et de petits villages. La région est connue pour son passé viking et un patrimoine que gardent les redoutables volcans Eyjafjallajökull et Hekla. Par temps clair vous verrez très nettement les îles Westmann où se trouve le célèbre volcan qui a causé de grands dommages aux habitants dans les années 70.

Amenez avec vous: Des vêtements adaptés au temps. Il est prudent en islande, de porter des habits chauds et imperméables. Les changements de temps sont brusques, et il faut s‘attendre à l‘inattendu. Amenez une veste et des pentalons imperméables, un couvre-chef et des gants. De solides chaussures de plein air sont recommandées.

The Solheim Glacier is a magnificent and humbling site to behold, it is a glacial tongue extension of the Myrdalsjökull glacier. When we arrive there, you will be outfitted by the Icelandic Mountain Guides with all the necessary equipment for hiking and exploring the cracks and crevasses of the glacier.
Skógafoss Waterfall
The powerful Skógafoss waterfall where a short walk up a flight of stairs will reveal one of Iceland´s most scenic views, glaciers, volcanoes and black sand beaches.
Along the return trip to Reykjavik, we will stop at the powerful 65 meter tall Skógafoss Waterfall where a short walk up a flight of steps will reveal one of Iceland´s most scenic views of glaciers, volcanoes and black sandy beaches. With viewpoints both above and directly next to the waterfall, photographers will have plenty of chances to capture that unique shot.
Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss waterfall, famous for the hidden pathway behind and around it.
The Seljalandsfoss waterfall is for many guests the highlight of this trip, as you can walk along this waterfall offering a completely unique perspectives! From here we will spend about 1.5 hours in the coach returning to Reykjavik.
Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
This one of the most famous and most visited sites in all of Iceland. Marvel at the unique volcanic black sand beach of Reyisfjara with rising basalt columns, a large basalt stone cave which has been battered by heavy oceanic waves.
There is a cafe located at Reynisfjara where you can buy some snack or use the restrooms if needed.
